Guild buffs

The Buffs tab of the Guild panel holds two kinds of buffs:

  • Catalog buffs are fixed effects bought with treasury gold and renown, each tied to a specific hunting ground (The Pit, the Ocean, or the Wilderness).
  • Random Buff rolls cost 250 renown. Pick an area first: The Pit, the Ocean, or the Wilderness. The roll lands as either Gold Earned or Rare Loot Increase at a random 5-25%, valid only in the area you picked, and goes into the guild's Unlocked inventory. An officer with the Activate Buff permission triggers it later, when it's tactically useful. Activation is free; the cost was paid at roll time. Each buff runs 2 hours once activated.

Rules that keep it sane:

  • At most 3 buffs active at once. Rolls can still be stockpiled while the guild is at the cap; activation waits until a slot frees up.
  • Same-stat stacking is capped. Multiple active buffs of the same effect add together, but the total is clamped: Gold Earned caps at +40%, Rare Loot Increase at +40%, renown gain at +50%. Three perfect rolls on the same stat will not triple your yield.
  • Rare Loot Increase raises the chance that a rare resonance echo drops from creatures you kill in the buff's area.

Changing your guild name or abbreviation

Only the guildmaster can rename a guild or change its abbreviation, from the Settings tab of the Guild panel. Three things to know before you do:

  • Guildmaster only. Officers can't touch it - the controls are greyed out for everyone but the guildmaster.
  • Has to be unique. Pick a name or abbreviation already claimed by another guild in the realm and the change is rejected, no gold spent. Matching is case-insensitive, so "The Black Rose" and "the black rose" collide.
  • Costs 1,000,000 gold each. A name change runs a million; an abbreviation change runs another million, so swapping both is 2,000,000. The gold comes out of your backpack first, then your bank, and only if the change goes through. Can't afford it, or the value's taken? You keep every coin.

Choose well. This is a real gold sink, not a free toggle.
