Installing the Lyonspyre Client

The Lyonspyre Client ships with richer in-game panels - talents, leaderboard, profile, and more. The launcher bundles everything you need. There's no separate game install to hunt down first.

Download

Download Lyonspyre.exe

That one executable is a self-updating launcher. Drop it anywhere, double-click, and the rest happens on its own.

What gets installed

Files land under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lyonspyre\ (typically C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Lyonspyre\):

Path What's there
client/ The Lyonspyre Client executable + DLLs
uo-data/ Game art and map data
client/Data/Plugins/Lyonspyre/ Per-player settings (cooldown rules, bandage bar position, journal tabs)

Any other game install you already have is left untouched.

First launch

  1. The launcher self-checks for updates and patches.
  2. When you see "Ready to play", click Play.
  3. The game window opens at the login screen.
  4. Enter any username and password - accounts auto-create on first connect.

There's no sign-up form and no email to confirm. Type the username and password you want, connect, and the account is yours from that moment. Pick something you'll remember: there's no self-service password reset, so a forgotten password means asking in Discord #help.

How many accounts you can make

Up to 20 accounts can be created from any one internet connection. That's enough for a household, a shared house or a group of friends on the same connection to all make their own.

Two things worth knowing:

  • Every account ever made from your connection counts toward the limit, including ones you've abandoned. The count doesn't clear itself over time.
  • If you hit the limit, the login screen tells you so. Ask in Discord #help: we can see it in the server log straight away and we'll sort it out.

This is a limit on making accounts. It's nothing to do with how many game windows you can run at once, which is covered below.

Multi-clienting

Two clients per IP/computer. The launcher will happily spawn a second instance; both run with isolated caches and won't step on each other.

Troubleshooting

I typed a new username and password and it wouldn't let me in

New accounts are made the moment you connect, so a username nobody has taken should just work. When it doesn't, it's one of these:

  • Someone already has that username. You'll be told the name and password don't match. Pick a different one.
  • The account limit for your connection is full. Counting every account ever made from it, including ones nobody uses any more. The login screen says so. Ask in Discord #help and we'll sort it out.
  • The username has a character we can't store. These are out: < > : " / \ | ? *. A username also can't start or end with a space, or end with a full stop.
  • The password was left blank. It has to be something.

The login screen names which one it is. If none of them fit, ask in Discord #help and we'll read the log.

The launcher says 'update failed' / 'sha256 mismatch'

Delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lyonspyre\client\ and re-launch. The launcher re-downloads from scratch. This almost always means a partial download got corrupted on a flaky connection.

The game crashes on launch

Crash reports auto-upload to our cloud collector. If you can, tell us what you were doing in Discord #bugs and we'll pull the trace.

I see the wrong splash, not the Lyonspyre login art

You're on an old launcher build. Click Update in the launcher, or close and re-launch - it'll pull the latest manifest.
