Pet / Taming talents

The Taming tree is for tamers. The Offensive path (Beastmaster) makes your pets hit harder and gives you cooldown actives that coordinate the pack. The Defensive path (Warden) makes pets tougher, faster to bond, faster to heal, and harder to lose. The Utility column hosts the taming-success passive.

Build notes

  • Beast Whisperer + Bonded is the foundation for a fresh tamer in any dungeon: faster taming, fatter pets, faster pet level-ups.
  • Predator's Mark + Pack Tactics + Beast Rage is +20-50% pet damage in the right conditions; bring 2+ pets and keep them topped off to keep Beast Rage active.
  • Pet Sacrifice vs Mended Bond: Sacrifice if you tank dragons-with-bandages style and want to redirect a burst window. Mended Bond if your pet keeps dying mid-fight and you need a 50% heal on a 30s cycle.
  • Spirit Guardian's 300s cooldown makes it a once-per-major-fight insurance policy. Pair with Pet Sacrifice so you have two "don't die" buttons.

Ability status

All passives are live: Predator's Mark, Pack Tactics, Beast Rage, Bonded (HP + XP), Resilient, Shared Vitality, Beast Whisperer.

Active abilities currently working:

  • Frenzy — +50% pet damage window.
  • Mended Bond — instant 50%-of-max-HP heal on your most-wounded pet. If no pet is hurt, the cooldown isn't spent.
  • Coordinated Strike — every pet within 12 tiles lands a heavy strike (1.5× its melee) on your current target.
  • Spirit Guardian — revives a fallen pet at full HP.

Two active abilities are designed but not yet enabled (they're being finished): Pet Sacrifice (redirect your damage to your pet) and Wild Hunt (summon spirit wolves). Their entries above describe the intended behavior; they don't do anything yet.
