Auto-Bard¶
A once-a-second heartbeat that plays your bard skills for you while you fight. When it's on and you are fighting a creature, it plays Discordance on your target the moment your skill timer is ready - and once the target is in discord (or if you don't train Discordance), it plays targeted Peacemaking instead. No more writing client macros just to keep your debuffs rolling.
Off by default. It spends real lute charges, so nothing plays until you ask for it.
How to use it¶
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
[autobard |
Toggles auto-bard on or off. Tells you the new state. |
You can also flip it under Profile ▸ QOL Features, next to Auto-Bandage.
Auto-bard fires when all of these are true:
- You turned it on (
[autobardor the QOL panel). - You're alive, online, and fighting a creature (your current combat target).
- You are not in PvP combat - against players, barding is manual. The heartbeat suspends while you count as PvP-active and resumes on its own afterward.
- Your skill timer is ready - the same lockout a manual bard sits through (about 12 seconds after a discord attempt, 5 to 10 after a peace).
- You have an instrument with charges in your pack.
- You don't have a targeting cursor up - auto-bard never steals your cursor or interrupts a spell.
- The target is in bard range and can actually be affected (not already discorded or calmed, not immune, not your own pet).
What it costs¶
Exactly what playing by hand costs. Every attempt runs the real skill: the Musicianship pre-roll, the difficulty check against the creature, a lute charge spent on success and failure, and the full skill-timer lockout afterward. Auto-bard is a convenience, not a discount - a bard with weak Musicianship whiffs just as often on autopilot and burns charges doing it.
What it will not do¶
- Provocation. Choosing which two creatures fight each other is a decision, not a rotation - provoke stays manual.
- Area peace. The self-targeted combat reset is your panic button; auto-bard never spends it for you.
- PvP. Anything involving another player is hands-on.
