Angler's Circuit¶
The Angler's Circuit is a weekly sport fishing competition. Catch the featured trophy fish, race it back to port, and weigh it before time runs out.
Open the Circuit panel through any Dockmaster or type [angler. The panel shows the featured fish, your daily readiness, your best catch, and the current standings.
Quick rules¶
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where | Both your ship and cast must be inside the same active fishing school, and the cast must land in deep water. |
| Daily strike | Each account can land one qualifying trophy strike per UTC day. |
| Return time | A fresh trophy fish lasts up to 15 minutes of real time, but never past the weekly close. |
| Travel | Sail it home. Magical travel cannot carry a fresh catch. |
| Weigh-in | Any Dockmaster can accept the fish. |
| Scoring | Your heaviest catch sets your rank. Equal weights favor the faster return, then the earlier weigh-in. |
Landing a trophy fish¶
A Circuit strike can happen only while these rules are met:
- You are aboard a ship.
- The cast lands in deep water inside an active fishing school.
- Your ship is also inside that same active fishing school.
- Your account still has its daily strike ready.
The featured trophy species changes with each Weekly Weigh-In. Your first qualifying school catch has a 1% strike chance. Each miss adds 0.5 percentage points, and the 60th qualifying catch is guaranteed. Once a trophy fish bites, that account's strike is spent until the daily reset at 00:00 UTC.
The Circuit panel always shows whether your account is ready or spent. The daily limit applies across every character on the account.
The return run¶
Landing a trophy fish starts a real-time clock of up to 15 minutes. The weekly close can shorten a late catch's clock. A compact Trophy Run display keeps the fish, weight, and time in view. Choose your own route to any Dockmaster before it spoils.
Recall, gates, and other magical travel cannot carry a fresh trophy fish. The clock also keeps running while you are offline. If it reaches zero, the fish spoils and cannot be weighed.
The catch belongs to the account that landed it. Passing it to another account does not transfer its entry.
Weighing in¶
Reach a Dockmaster with the fresh fish in your backpack. Open the Circuit panel and press WEIGH IN.
Every valid catch increments your submission count. If it beats your current best, the heavier fish becomes your score for the week. Lighter catches do not lower your best. When two best catches have the same weight, the shorter catch-to-weigh-in time ranks first, followed by the earlier weigh-in.
The panel includes:
- Your weekly best and current rank.
- The live Weekly Weigh-In standings.
- The previous week's result.
- Your recent Circuit history.
Each account holds one place in the standings. Your best catch is the one that counts.
