World map location sharing

Open the world map from your paperdoll (or bind a key) and it shows the live positions of your party and your guild as coloured dots. Party dots are yellow, guild dots are green. A dot greys out when that person is on a different facet.

Sharing is on by default

New characters share their location with both party and guild from the start - your group sees you, you see them, no settings to dig through first. You stay in control: right-click the world map to toggle either share on its own.

  • Share my position with party - on by default.
  • Share my position with guild - on by default.

Turn a share off and you stop broadcasting your dot to that group. You'll still see other members who are sharing. There's a separate "show guildmate dots" toggle if you'd rather not render theirs either.

Existing characters keep your choice

Only brand-new characters get the on-by-default behaviour. If you'd already set your sharing preference, it is left exactly as you had it.

Ping a spot

Right-click the world map and choose Ping this spot to drop a "look here!" marker for your party, your guild, or both. Everyone who can see it gets a short chime (toggleable) and a sonar beacon at the spot for a few seconds: expanding rings around a solid dot, with the sender's name beneath.

For a quick "I am here" callout, bind Ping Map under Options > Macros. Pressing it pings your current tile to both your party and guild. Imported macro sets also recognize common Ping and Map Ping bindings and carry the key across when possible.

Every map beacon on Lyonspyre now shares that same sonar animation, each in its own colour, so you can tell them apart at a glance:

  • Cyan - party ping
  • Yellow - guild ping
  • Gold - quest destination
  • Teal - a deciphered bottle's X (Fishing)
  • Aquamarine - your own "go to" / focus pin

Names on the map

Each shared dot carries that member's name. When a party member walks out of your view range, the map keeps showing their last-known name instead of the old "<out of range>" placeholder - your client remembers party members' names even when they're across the map.

A guild member who has never been in your view range this session may still show "<out of range>" until you've seen them up close once. After that, their name sticks.

Notoriety colors for everyone else

Players and creatures inside your normal view range also appear on the world map. These dots used to be a flat red regardless of who they were; they are now colored by notoriety:

  • Blue - innocent
  • Gray - criminal (or otherwise attackable)
  • Red - murderer
  • Green - ally · Orange - declared enemy · Yellow - invulnerable

The Farsight talent extends this far beyond view range: a 5-second sonar pulse that paints distant players onto the map as bolder blips in the same colors.
