Movement keys¶
Walk with any keys you like - the classic WASD layout, or your own. Eight directions are bindable: up, down, left, right, and the four diagonals. A bound key behaves exactly like holding the matching arrow key, so running, pathing, and every movement rule work the same.
Setting it up¶
Type these in game chat:
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
-walkkeys |
Show your current bindings |
-walkkeys wasd |
The classic preset: W up, A left, S down, D right |
-walkkeys bind up |
Press the next key to bind it to that direction |
-walkkeys clear up |
Unbind one direction |
-walkkeys clear all |
Unbind everything |
Directions: up down left right upleft upright downleft downright.
Letters need Enter-to-chat
If your movement keys are letters, enable Press Enter to activate chat in Options first. Otherwise typing a letter goes into the chat bar instead of moving you. The -walkkeys wasd command reminds you of this too.
A key that already runs a macro keeps running the macro - unbind the macro if you want the key to move you instead. Diagonal keys press two directions at once, exactly like holding two arrows.
They import automatically¶
If you bring your setup over from another client install with the in-game macro import (or the launcher), your movement key layout comes across with it - no re-binding needed. The import summary tells you how many bindings arrived.
