Arcanum¶
Arcanum¶
Pure arcane attunement. Amplifies spell damage, sharpens critical strikes, and occasionally refunds the mana spent on a cast.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Id | arcanum |
| Echo name | an arcanum echo |
| Echo hue | 0x486 (saturated violet) |
| Max per-slot level | 10 |
| Role | Mage |
Passive — spell damage¶
Arcanum adds a spell-damage multiplier. The multiplier is PvM-only — casting at another player skips the bonus.
Arcanum spell-damage multiplier
damage *= 1 + (activeArcanumLevel * 1 / 100)
| Active level (sum) | Spell-damage bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +1% |
| 5 | +5% |
| 10 | +10% |
| 20 | +20% |
| 30 | +30% |
| 60 (6 slots × L10) | +60% |
This multiplier is additive on top of the existing PvM 4× and global 0.5× knobs that already apply to Magic Arrow, Flame Strike, etc. — Arcanum is layered after them.
Passive — mana refund¶
Arcanum adds a chance for each cast to refund its full mana cost.
Arcanum mana-refund chance
if (rand(100) < activeArcanumLevel * 1) refund full mana cost
| Active level (sum) | Mana-refund chance per cast |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1% |
| 5 | 5% |
| 10 | 10% |
| 30 | 30% |
| 60 (6 slots × L10) | 60% |
On a successful roll the entire mana cost of the cast is refunded. The bonus stacks additively with the existing skill + spellbook refund chance.
Passive — spell crit¶
Arcanum also tracks a per-level spell-crit chance.
| Effect | Per active level |
|---|---|
| Spell crit chance | +1% |
TBD — spell crit not yet wired
The number displays in the panel and OPL tooltip, but no consumer in the spell pipeline currently reads it. Spell damage and mana refund are the two live Arcanum passives today.
Ultimate — Arcane Cascade¶
When Arcanum is assigned to your Weapon slot and you land a melee hit, the Ultimate can proc.
- Visual — a violet energy ring bursts on the target plus a head-layer aura on the attacker for the 15-second buff window.
- Sound — the standard energy-bolt cue.
- Flourish — restores
30 + 3·Lmana to the attacker on proc.
| Weapon-slot Arcanum level | Mana restored on proc |
|---|---|
| 1 | 33 |
| 3 | 39 |
| 5 | 45 |
| 7 | 51 |
| 10 | 60 |
Weapon-swing Ultimate on a mage
The Ultimate proc fires on a weapon hit landed — it is not triggered by spell casts. To benefit from Arcane Cascade, an Arcanum mage still needs to swing a weapon at the target and land a hit. This is true of every resonance Ultimate; see Ultimates for the universal mechanics.
